After the uber satisfying lunch at Robuchon, we hopped to their patisserie to buy some for snack time. There were so many cakes, breads and various sweets to choose from! It was like we didn’t just have lunch moments ago.
What we ate:
au bon pain almond croissant (probably not the official name)
Pain with Custard in the middle (soooo yummy! also not the official name)
quiche lorraine and quiche provencale (not photographed)
If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop by the patisserie!
Big Sis was with us when Little A had her passport photo taken in the Embassy and since we are already in the area, she wanted to go to the Harry Potter exhibit in Mori Arts Theater. But, we had to have lunch first, right? Not just anywhere, too! As a firm believer that every occasion should be celebrated, we headed to L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon to celebrate August birthdays and First Time/s!
We were there before they opened and asked if they could seat us for lunch. Luckily, there were still bar seats available. Reservations are necessary if you want table seating, I guess.
We ordered off the lunch menu set.
Amuse-bouche of the day
Big Sis’ Gazpacho
Their Chicken Entree
My very chocolate dessert
Dr.G’s Fig Dessert
(surprise) Complimentary ice cream dessert
The food was great, colorful and packed with flavor at every bite. The portions were just right, too. The service was impeccable as well. They are after all one of the 52 two starred Michelin restaurants in Tokyo (2012).
We took home some pastries from the shop beside the atelier. Watch out for that post!
